MHT25 – Solution Focussed Brief Therapy Training

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a goal / solution-based approach that supports clients to identify, verbalise and make stepwise approaches towards desired goals and solutions that are most likely to resolve their current problems. The emphasis is on desired outcomes and potential solutions, not necessarily the problems that cast long shadow over their thoughts, decisions, behaviours, life and general wellbeing.

Where do you want to be instead of where you are now? What will it take you to get there? How will you know that you’re arrived? What is, or is likely to get in the way of the things that you want to achieve or change? What can you do to navigate these challenges? This is the type of language key to any successful SFBT approach.

SFBT helps clients to recognise the habits, skills and shadow strengths that they are likely to already possess. It identifies goals, it develops hope and identifies / facilitates client skills and solutions that resolves their problems. It brings about change!
